Oct 19 – Oct 20 alert:
Weather forecast for the next few days predicts high water levels of 1.2-1.9 meters above middle water.
Stena Line informs that they will not be able to load or unload car carriers or similar due to bad ramp angles on the route Göteborg-Kiel.
The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued an orange warning for high water levels along the south coast from Friday evening and will continue during the day on Saturday. The consequences can be extensive flooding, which can cause limited accessibility on roads and railways.
Close to record levels
– On the stretch of coast between the Öresund Bridge and Ystad, the levels could be record high, says oceanographer on duty Sofie Schöld. “It will be particularly high around the Skanör-Falsterbo peninsula and then it will be a little lower towards Ystad,” she says.
