From 1 January 2025, several countries in Europe will adjust their road tolls, and Denmark will introduce a new road toll. In addition, the Swedish Transport Administration will change the track fees in Sweden.

Denmark introduces new road toll

Denmark is introducing a new road toll that will apply from 1st January 2025. The fee covers both the state and parts of the municipal road network, a total of about 10,900 km. The new fee applies to trucks with a technically permissible gross vehicle weight (TPTW) of 12 tonnes or more. The fee is based on the vehicle’s CO2 emission class and technically permissible gross vehicle weight, with an additional fee for low emission zones in some major cities. Adjustments to road tolls in other countries

Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic and Hungary will also adjust their road tolls from 1st January 2025.

Changes to track fees in Sweden

From 1st January 2025, the Swedish Transport Administration will increase track fees for intermodal transport by 50%. The change applies to the routes Trelleborg – Malmö – Eskilstuna and Gothenburg – Eskilstuna – Umeå.
