GLA möte Oman Leif Adam

First Cargo have been members of GLA (Global Logistics Association) since 2007 and have attended the yearly meetings since 2008. Sven Algholm is a member of the board since 2010. This, year, Adam Henningsson and Leif Johnson went to Muscat, Oman, to meet up with members – and friends – from many countries. The main purpose of these meetings is to have the opportunity to get to know each other – and one another’s business – better, and facilitate more collaboration as a way of helping each other and extending market shares.

Adam, what was the best thing you brought with you from the meetup?

“Well, it’s all about relations, that’s a base for good business that we stand for at First Cargo. We met with some new members från Nigeria, Greece etc, and that was especially interesting.”

Do you see any obstacles to be overcome in the GLA sphere?

“Yes, digitalisation! It’s happening, and we as forwarders must keep up!”

Leif, this was your last GLA General Meeting since you will retire and dive into new adventure later this year – how would you summarize the years with GLA from your perspective?

“Getting to meet and get to know people from such different parts of the world gives you perspective on our own small part of the planet.”

What would you recommend GLA to focus on in the future?

“Continue to develop digital platforms, but don’t forget the personal meetings. A person you have met and will meet again always gets priority when he asks for help.”

What is your most interesting memory from these meetings?

“All fantastic cities and countries that you would never have had the opportunity to visit.”
